Bioscience

Where Research Meets Results

Here in Colorado, we not only walk the walk around healthy living, but with our cutting-edge medicines and research, we make sure that patients around the globe can do the same.

Colorado is home to a vibrant and growing cluster of research institutions, renowned scientists and more than 2,500 bioscience-related companies that are developing breakthroughs in life-saving drugs and devices.

Ninety percent of the state’s bioscience firms are located along the Front Range with the heart of the Rocky Mountain region’s life science center found at the Fitzsimons Life Science District and the adjacent Anschutz Medical Campus. As one of the most ambitious medical developments in the nation, the $5.2 billion project encompasses 578 total acres and more than six million square feet of cutting-edge space and services that will eventually support more than 43,000 bioscience professionals.

A critical mass of infrastructure and companies isn’t the only asset we like to tout. A robust commitment of venture capital from around the nation, with more than $450 million invested in 2021, and advocacy organizations, like the Colorado BioScience Association are critical components to our state’s bioscience cluster.

This type of collaboration and support fuels Colorado’s bioscience industry, which continues to play an increasingly important role in the nation’s long-term well-being and quality of life.
